Erik has been working as an art director for over 10 years and has received numerous industry awards including the Society of Publication Designers, Canadian National Magazine Awards, Art Directors Club of Canada and Magazines du Québec. As a creative director, Erik has launched numerous custom published magazines. In anticipation of the client’s needs, Erik is skilled at matching a visual aesthetic to the client’s brand. Erik’s strength in assembling and encouraging a talented art department has contributed to the success of many projects after their launch.
SALLY TAN soriano, NEW BUSINESS & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
With over 17 years in project/production management and a Bachelor of Technology in Graphic Communications Management from Ryerson University, Sally has a deep understanding of the full production process – from the beginning of an idea right through to the final execution. Her previous experience includes many award-winning publications (retail, trade, and custom) as well as familiarity in an agency environment. Her organization, attention to detail and ability to multi-task are key to her success. Managing large scale budgets and meeting deadlines are no-brainers for this seasoned production pro.
Ian sullivan cant, DESIGNER
Ian started working in the magazine business stuffing envelopes for a Yoga magazine while pursuing a Creative Writing degree in Montreal. He joined Emblem after graduating from the George Brown School of Graphic Design. He’s made zines, published a book with Conundrum Press, and has designed Broken Pencil magazine since 2010.
MARY YOUNG, DESIGNER
Mary has been working in the creative industry since receiving her Bachelors of Fashion Design from Ryerson University in 2014. Her experience in the fashion and marketing world as well as her education give her a forward thinking approach and edge. She is well versed in social media strategy and effectively communicating with an audience across multiple social channels. Mary has the ability to understand and translate a brands vision into cohesive content that communicates the desired message in an organic and compelling way.
