Updates
Our first issue of our magazine "Debrief” went out to our collaborators this week. We like to think of it as a sort of love letter to our favourite projects because it feels more like a yearbook than a magazine. Learn more about Debrief on our website.
This past month we took a team trip down to ye olde Canadian Blood Services to make a donation in exchange for Oreos. None of us are fans of needles but it’s an easy way to help if you’re eligible. And we like to help.
A little competition is healthy, especially when paired with wine. We tested our studio friendships with Catan at a coffee shop and got to witness some radiant lighting.
We’re moving! Goodbye #209. Hello #396! Our new space is the former Canadaland office in the 401 Richmond building. Stay tuned for details about an office-warming party! (You’re already invited 😉.)
Mixed by Emblem Vol. 2: Summer
We’re conflicted in the office about which season is the best. Some of us wish summer would stay forever, others find themselves longing for snowboards and cardigans.
This playlist is what summertime means to us.
In preparation for a new project with the National Magazine Awards, we took to Canada Modern for some inspiration. The Canada Modern is an archive of modern Canadian graphic design from 1960-1985.
Blair Thomson, a Canadian creative director, created the website in 2017 and has since then made it his mission to highlight and celebrate Canadian design, which has too often been overlooked.
Typography 61 Catalogue, Jack Birdsall Designer, Rous and Mann Press Limited Studio, 1961.
Claude Neon Annual Report 1973, Stuart Ash, Tilt Telmet, Freddi Jaggi Designers, Gottschalk+Ash Studio, 1973.
A Packet of Prose, (Unknown) Designer, 1967.
Eggs and Egg Product, (Unknown) Designer, 1973.
Canadian International Development Agency Annual Report 1971-1972, Fritz Gottschalk Designer, Gottschalk+Ash Studio, 1972.
Beers on beers on beers on beers. Check out more of our latest work we did with Tavanberg for The Beer Store on their Instagram and our website.
Goal Posters (Goalsters)!
We’ve created these posters to help us visually organize our company goals. They remind and challenge us to think strategically about what we want to accomplish over a 6 month time frame.
We’re happy to share some fillable templates with you in the hopes you find them as helpful as we have! Download them here!
